The Elegant Suburb

Incorporating the classical suburban characteristic, the vigor of mixed styles displays its charms. The Elegant Suburb, designed by Ching-Ya Chou, is an interior design project that showcases the beauty of oak veneers, marbles, cultured stones, leathers, wallpapers, and more. This design aims to create a space that exudes elegance and sophistication while incorporating elements of nature.

One of the standout features of The Elegant Suburb is the living room, which is furnished with a green-marble TV wall and large ceiling windows. This design choice allows residents to admire the natural living environment from the comfort of their own home. The green-marble TV wall adds a touch of luxury and blends seamlessly with the surrounding greenery.

The ceiling of The Elegant Suburb is adorned with white wooden grilles and recessed illuminations, creating a visually stunning display of shifting lights. At the end of the gallery, wallpapers with patterns of plants further enhance the atmosphere of an American countryside. These design choices contribute to the overall aesthetic and ambiance of the space.

The Elegant Suburb covers an area of 144 square meters and is located in Taipei City, Taiwan. The project was completed in December 2015. Throughout the design process, Ching-Ya Chou and Chun-Fong Wu collaborated to overcome creative, technical, and research challenges. The result is a space that combines classical suburban characteristics with a vibrant mix of styles.

The colors of wood and dark blue are used to create a dignified and serene atmosphere. The functional aspects of the design, such as the desk, window lounge, and storage bed, make daily life easier and more convenient. In the master bedroom, the headboard is adorned with beige and bronze leathers, framed with delicate double layers, showcasing an elegant and luxurious quality.

The Elegant Suburb has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2018. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
